Omeila Foods Was Born Out of a Mother’s Love
My amazing son, Omar, has allergies to 6 of the top 9 allergens. When he was first diagnosed, I was terrified. All I wanted was to keep him safe at home, away from any risks.
But as he grew older and started getting invited to birthday parties and events, I realized keeping him sheltered wasn’t fair.
I turned to other allergy parents for advice, and they all said the same thing:
“Bring your own food.”
As a busy working mom, I didn’t have time to bake from scratch every time Omar was invited somewhere.
Buying cakes from bakeries or grocery stores wasn’t an option either, as warnings about cross-contamination made them unsafe.
What I needed was:
- An allergy-friendly cake mix I could trust.
- Something as easy as opening a pouch, mixing in a couple of wet ingredients, and baking.
- And most importantly, a cake that tasted just as good as what the other kids were eating.
When I couldn’t find what I was looking for, I decided to create it myself.
After about a year of tinkering in the kitchen, I knew I had the right recipe when my husband came back for seconds!
